Fantasy Football Analytics Glossary

Every metric League History uses to analyze your fantasy football league — what it measures, how it's calculated, and why it matters. These aren't generic projections — each metric is computed from your league's actual data when you import your league.

Player Value

LAMAR

How many fantasy points a player scores above the replacement level at their position, adjusted for league size and roster construction.

Clutch Equity

How much a player contributed to their manager's championship probability each week, measured by distributing actual odds changes proportionally.

Team Strength

Power Rating

A Bayesian estimate of a team's true scoring strength using recency-weighted history, shrinkage toward the league average, and variance modeling.

Win Probability

Pre-game estimated chance of winning a matchup, derived from the Power Rating difference between two teams.

Roster Management

Optimal Lineup

The best possible starting lineup a manager could have set each week given their rostered players, used to measure start/sit decision quality.

Lineup Efficiency

The percentage of maximum possible points a manager actually scored — actual points divided by optimal lineup points.

Best Transactions

Ranks waiver wire and free agent moves by rest-of-season LAMAR gained, tracked across all seasons in your league's history.

Best Trades

Evaluates every trade by the net LAMAR each side gained or lost, with both sides scored independently across all seasons.

Draft Grades

Retroactive letter grades for every draft pick based on actual season LAMAR relative to expectations for that draft position.

Luck & Schedule

Luck

The difference between actual wins and expected wins from 100,000 Monte Carlo schedule simulations, measuring how much schedule randomness helped or hurt.

SoS Luck

Whether a manager faced easier or harder opponents than average, measured by a separate 100,000-iteration simulation of opponent difficulty.

All-Play Record

How many teams a manager would have beaten each week based purely on points scored, removing schedule dependency entirely.

Playoff Odds

Probability of making the playoffs, updated weekly using 10,000 Monte Carlo simulations with Bayesian team strength modeling.

Championship Odds

Probability of winning the league championship, extending playoff odds through a full bracket simulation with seeding and bye weeks.
