Best Trades

What are Best Trades?

Best Trades evaluates every trade in your league's history by measuring the net LAMAR each side gained or lost. Each manager's side of a trade is scored independently: the LAMAR produced by the assets they received, minus the LAMAR produced by the assets they gave away.

How trades are scored

Net LAMAR

For each side of a trade:

Net LAMAR = LAMAR of Players Received (while managed) - LAMAR of Players Given Away (rest of season)

The received players are measured by their managed LAMAR — only the value they produced while on the acquiring manager's roster. The given-away players are measured by their total rest-of-season LAMAR, regardless of who ends up with them.

This means a trade can be evaluated from both sides simultaneously. One manager might gain +80 Net LAMAR while the other loses -80, making it a lopsided deal. Or both sides might gain value if they traded players who better fit each other's roster needs.

How Best Trades differs from Best Transactions

Best Transactions covers waiver wire and free agent adds/drops — moves where one player is picked up from the available pool. Best Trades covers deals between managers where assets are exchanged directly.

The scoring methodology is similar (both use rest-of-season managed LAMAR), but trades are inherently two-sided. Every trade has a winner and a loser (or both sides win), and the system tracks both perspectives.

Cross-season tracking

Trade performance is tracked across all seasons. Career trade rankings reveal which managers consistently come out ahead in deals, and which ones have a pattern of giving up more value than they receive. Multi-year win rate and total net LAMAR show the long-term trade tendencies that single-season snapshots miss.
